“Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.”
- Howard Thurman
Some time ago, this quote pushed me over the precipice of what some may refer to as an “existential crisis”...
After spending close to 10 years back-and-forth between engineering school, industry, and graduate-school, I clocked into my first day at a new engineering job in the HVAC industry. The boss showed me to my desk. “
...I guess this is my career, I thought to myself. I may not be here forever, but somewhere I will be punching the clock, writing reports, and pushing pencils until I retire...
I wasn't passionate about this... This wasn't what I wanted or expected from life... This isn't what life wanted or expected from me! There was something inside me that seemed to whisper "you were meant for more." ...
...That was my first, and my last day at that job. The future that stemmed from my decision that day is still unfolding, but each step is now being chosen with purpose. Each decision adding to the legacy of inspiration, heart, and service that I want to leave.
Nobody ever changed the world by letting their dreams die in a cubicle.
My vision is for every person to have the opportunity to discover and pursue what inspires them. Not just people here, but abroad as well. I have a vision of a world filled with inspired people, living to better the lives of others in their communities.
My goal is to empower you re-define what you expect from life, meet your full potential, and reunite you with the mission that will make you excited to get out of bed each morning.
